Umm. Umm. Good

Look what's cooking up with one of my co-workers... Umm Umm Good it's time for Chicken Noodles. This photo is one I grabbed from the internet, I've been really bad lately on not posting photos along with my posts, my apologies. I know that the photos make the page more eye appealing, I promise to work on that.

Chicken Noodles
by Clarice Brown

Bring chicken broth (and meat if desired) to a rolling boil. You may have to add water to broth. If you do, add some chicken bouillon for flavor. While it is heating up, make noodles:

1 cup flour
1 tsp salt
1 beaten egg
2 T. milk (or enough to make a soft dough)

Roll out as thin as you like on floured board (or counter top). I use a pizza cutter to cut the noodles.

Drop into boiling broth and cook 10 to 20 minutes until tender. All of the flour will thicken it up, so you may have to add water as it cooks.

Oh my gosh. Yum. This is very, very similar to my grandpa's recipe. Said recipe is in my mother's recipe file, not mine, and I am happy beyond words to now have it for my own!

Thanks for posting this. Even though I just finished dinner, I may go and make this for a great late night indulgence.

Jill,

I am so glad to hear that this recipe brought back found memories. That's what recipes do...they can remind of us the people we love the most.

Let me know how your bowl of chicken noodles turned out.

The noodles were delicious. I grated some carrots to add for some color and vitamin A, and ate half the pan by myself!

Thanks again!

JIll-
I am so glad to hear you liked Clarice's noodles, I'll let her know.

I add carrots, celery, poultry seasonings, and some fresh herbs...they make these noodles really, really good.

Hoep you have a wonderful weekend!
